Sarah Lesch (born 1 March 1986 in Altenburg, Thuringia) is a German singer-songwriter based in Leipzig, whose folk- and chanson-rooted songs combine sharp social commentary with personal storytelling. She broke through nationally with the six-minute song "Testament" (2015), which won the FM4 Protestsongcontest in Vienna in 2016 and reached millions of listeners online. A winner of the Troubadour Chansonpreis, the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung prize and the Udo-Lindenberg-Hermann-Hesse-Panikpreis, she has released seven albums to date, most recently "Poesie & Widerstand" (2026).
