Schandmaul is a German medieval folk rock band from Munich, active since 1998. They blend electric rock with traditional instruments - bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy, shawm and folk flutes - to create a sound that has placed six albums in the German Top 10, including the chart-topping Leuchtfeuer (2016). With twelve studio albums and two Echo Award nominations, they are one of the most commercially successful acts in the German Mittelalter-Rock scene.
