Scharoun Ensemble is a chamber ensemble drawn from the musicians of the Berlin Philharmonic. Founded in 1983, it takes its name from Hans Scharoun, the architect who designed the Philharmonie building. The group focuses mainly on 20th- and 21st-century repertoire, while also performing classical works.
