Shirley Horn (1934–2005) was an American jazz singer and pianist from Washington, D.C., known for her intimate, slow-tempo style and rich vocal phrasing. She recorded extensively for Verve Records and is closely associated with the song "Here's to Life," which became one of her signatures. Miles Davis was among her early admirers.
