Soft Cell is a British synth-pop duo consisting of Marc Almond and Dave Ball. They rose to international fame with „Tainted Love" (1981), one of the defining hits of the 1980s. Their sound blends synth-pop with a dark, cabaret-influenced aesthetic. After disbanding in 1984, the duo has reunited on several occasions.
