Stacey Kent is an American jazz vocalist from South Orange, New Jersey, who has built her career largely in London after studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Known for her intimate, conversational phrasing across English, French and Portuguese repertoire, she has released over 11 studio albums - including the Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling 'Breakfast on the Morning Tram' (2007) - and performed in nearly 60 countries. She works in close partnership with her husband, saxophonist Jim Tomlinson, and has collaborated with Nobel Prize-winning author Kazuo Ishiguro, who writes original lyrics for her. In 2009 the French government awarded her the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
