Steve Gadd (born April 9, 1945, in Irondequoit, New York) is an American drummer whose five-decade career as a session and touring musician has made him one of the most influential figures in modern drumming. He played on landmark recordings such as Paul Simon's "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover", Steely Dan's "Aja" and Chick Corea's "Nite Sprite", and was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1984. In 2018 he won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album with the Steve Gadd Band, and he holds an honorary doctorate from Berklee College of Music.
