About

Tangerine Dream is a German electronic group founded in Berlin in 1967 by Edgar Froese. Their 1970s albums - above all Phaedra (1974) and Rubycon (1975) - defined the Berlin School of electronic music and shaped everything from ambient to trance. Froese remained the sole constant member until his death in January 2015; the group has continued under musical director Thorsten Quaeschning, alongside Hoshiko Yamane and Paul Frick. Beyond their studio catalogue of over 100 albums, they composed more than 60 film scores, including Sorcerer, Thief, Risky Business, and the original soundtrack for Grand Theft Auto V.
