About
Tautumeitas is a Latvian all-female folk and world music ensemble founded in Riga in 2015, originally as an ethnomusicology student project by sisters Asnate and Aurēlija Rancāne. The six-piece group builds its sound on archaic Latvian folk melodies and polyphonic vocal traditions from the Latgale region, weaving them into contemporary ethno-pop arrangements. They have won multiple Latvian Music Recording Awards (Zelta Mikrofons) and represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel with the all-Latvian-language entry "Bur man laimi", finishing 13th in the Grand Final.
