About

The Black Keys are an American rock duo from Akron, Ohio, formed in 2001 by guitarist and vocalist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney. Starting out in Carney's basement with an 8-track recorder, they built a devoted following through relentless touring and a raw blues-rock sound rooted in Mississippi hill country blues. Their albums Brothers (2010) and El Camino (2011) broke them into the mainstream, earning multiple Grammy Awards and Top 3 positions on the Billboard 200.
