The Hacker is the stage name of Michel Amato, a French electronic music producer and DJ from Grenoble, active since 1989. He is widely regarded as one of the founding figures of electroclash - a genre that fused technoid rhythms with synth-pop and punk irony at the turn of the millennium. His collaboration with Miss Kittin, above all their 2001 debut 'First Album', brought him international recognition and sold hundreds of thousands of records worldwide. As a solo artist he has continued releasing on labels such as Dark Entries and his own GoodLife/Zone imprint, spanning techno, EBM and electro.
