The Lemonheads are an American alternative rock band formed in Boston in 1986 by Evan Dando, Ben Deily, and Jesse Peretz - with Dando the only constant member across nearly four decades. Starting out in the underground punk scene on the Taang! label, they broke through to mainstream audiences in 1992 with 'It's a Shame About Ray', a record that fused punk energy with melodic pop songwriting and country-rock undertones. Their cover of Simon & Garfunkel's 'Mrs. Robinson', added to a later pressing of that album, became one of the band's biggest singles and turned Dando into an unlikely '90s heartthrob.
