The Ruins of Beverast is a German blackened doom metal project from Aachen, founded in 2003 by Alexander von Meilenwald - formerly the drummer of black metal band Nagelfar. Von Meilenwald writes, records and performs all instruments and vocals on studio material himself, while live shows since 2013 have featured an expanded line-up. Seven albums released through Ván Records have built the project a devoted following in the extreme metal underground, with the press noting its cinematic scope and uncompromising density.
The Ruins of Beverast released their seventh full-length album Tempelschlaf on January 9, 2026 via Ván Records.
The band undertook the Tempelschlaf Release Tour in January 2026, playing Köln, Hamburg, Dresden and München.
Angry Metal Guy awarded Tempelschlaf a score of 4.0/5.0, calling it 'growth, experimentation, and excellence'.
The Ruins of Beverast are scheduled to perform at the Alcatraz Metal Festival in Kortrijk on August 7, 2026 and at Brutal Assault in Jaroměř on August 8, 2026.
The band joined 1349's 'The Wolf & The King Eastern European' tour in May 2025 alongside Vitriol and Sarcator.
