Thomas Godoj (born Tomasz Jacek Godoj, 6 March 1978 in Rybnik, Poland) is a Polish-German rock singer and songwriter who grew up in Recklinghausen in the Ruhr region. He won the fifth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS) in 2008 with 62.2% of the final vote, then deliberately stepped away from tabloid celebrity to build a career on his own terms. Since 2014 he has released albums independently on his own label TOMZILLAmusik, financing each record through fan crowdfunding - a model that has made him one of the more durable figures in German-language rock.
