Avantasia is a German metal project founded in 1999 by Tobias Sammet, vocalist and main songwriter of Edguy. It works as a metal opera - each album tells its own story and features guest singers from across the rock and metal world. Live, the band performs with a rotating cast of those guests alongside a full backing band.
