Tocotronic, one of Germany's most influential rock bands, play Tonhalle Düsseldorf.
Tocotronic is a German indie rock band from Hamburg, founded in 1993 by Dirk von Lowtzow, Jan Müller and Arne Zank. They are one of the defining acts of the Hamburger Schule movement - alongside Blumfeld and Die Sterne - known for philosophically charged lyrics and a sound that evolved from lo-fi punk-grunge into layered, ambitious rock over 14 studio albums. Their influence on German-language rock is hard to overstate: bands like Wir sind Helden cite them as a direct reference point.
