Tracie Thoms (born August 19, 1975, Baltimore, Maryland) is an Emmy-nominated American actress and singer, classically trained at Howard University and the Juilliard School. She broke through as Joanne Jefferson in the 2005 film adaptation of Rent and went on to play Detective Kat Miller across five seasons of Cold Case. Since 2018 she has recurred as Karen Wilson on the Fox drama 9-1-1, and her stage credits include the 2016 Broadway revival of Falsettos and the final weeks of Rent's original Broadway run.
The Devil Wears Prada 2, in which Thoms reprises her role as Lily, was released theatrically on May 1, 2026, and grossed $688.2 million worldwide.
