Trivium are an American heavy metal band from Orlando, Florida, formed in 1999 around vocalist and guitarist Matt Heafy. Their sound draws on thrash metal, metalcore and progressive metal, and their 2005 breakthrough album Ascendancy - named Album of the Year by Kerrang! - sold over 500,000 copies worldwide and launched them onto the international stage. With ten studio albums on Roadrunner Records, a Grammy nomination for 'Betrayer' (2019) and over one million records sold, they rank among the most consistent heavy metal acts of the 21st century.
