Umse (born Christoph Umbeck, 25 July 1983 in Ratingen) is a German rapper based in Berlin, active since the mid-2000s. He is known for technically precise lyricism, intricate internal rhyme schemes and a self-produced sound built on flipped samples, dry drums and punchy basslines. Since 2021 he has released music fully independently - writing, producing, designing and directing everything himself - distributed via Groove Attack. Over two decades he has collaborated with artists including Megaloh, Afrob, Masta Ace and producer Nottz.
