Unreqvited is a solo blackgaze and post-black metal project from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, founded in 2016 by the musician known as 鬼 (Ghost, real name William Melsness). Over seven albums on Prophecy Productions, 鬼 has built a sound that moves between atmospheric black metal, shoegaze, ambient, and orchestral post-rock - all written, performed, and produced entirely alone. The project gained wide recognition in the underground metal scene for albums such as "Mosaic I: l'amour et l'ardeur", "Beautiful Ghosts", and the 2025 release "A Pathway to the Moon", the first Unreqvited record to feature sung lyrics.
Unreqvited announced their first-ever European tour, supporting Heretoir on the 15-date Solastalgia Over Europe MMXXVI run in October 2026.
Unreqvited released their seventh studio album "A Pathway to the Moon" on February 7, 2025 via Prophecy Productions, the first record in the project's catalog to feature sung lyrics.
