About
Alexander Veljanov is a Macedonian-born singer based in Germany, best known as the co-founder and frontman of the darkwave duo Deine Lakaien, which he formed with composer Ernst Horn in 1985. The band has shaped the European electronic avant-garde scene for four decades, reaching the German charts as high as #4. Alongside Deine Lakaien, Veljanov has pursued a solo career since 1998, releasing three studio albums that draw on Balkan influences and gothic pop, and his distinctively Slavic-tinged baritone has made him one of the most recognisable voices in German alternative music.
