Verka Serduchka is the drag persona of Ukrainian comedian and actor Andriy Danylko (born 2 October 1973 in Poltava), active since 1991. The character - a flamboyant, wisecracking train-car attendant - became one of the most recognisable faces of post-Soviet pop culture, blending eurodance, folk-pop and sharp comedy. At Eurovision 2007 in Helsinki, Danylko performed "Dancing Lasha Tumbai" and finished second with 235 points, turning the act into an international phenomenon. He holds the title of People's Artist of Ukraine and has sold over 600,000 records.
Verka Serduchka & Band are scheduled to perform in Berlin (Oct 17) and Hamburg (Oct 19), followed by Paris (Oct 21) as part of a European autumn tour.
