Verka Serdyuchka is the drag persona of Ukrainian comedian and actor Andriy Danylko (born 2 October 1973 in Poltava), who created the character in 1991 as a flamboyant train-car attendant. The project blends pop, disco, and sharp comedy, and shot to pan-European fame when Danylko represented Ukraine at Eurovision 2007 in Helsinki with "Dancing Lasha Tumbai", finishing second. Danylko holds the title of Honoured Artist of Ukraine and has sold over 600,000 records; the character also made a cameo in the Hollywood comedy Spy (2015).
Verka Serdyuchka & Band performed a spring European tour with dates in Warsaw, Wrocław, Milan, Amsterdam (AFAS Live, 26 May), and Vienna (PLANET.TT Halle im Gasometer, 29 May).
