About

VNV Nation is a British-Irish alternative electronic project founded in London in 1990 by Dublin-born singer, songwriter and producer Ronan Harris, now based in Hamburg. The name stands for "Victory Not Vengeance." Harris and collaborator Stefan Groth of Apoptygma Berzerk are credited with coining the term "futurepop" around 2002 to describe their blend of EBM, trance and synthpop. Albums such as Empires (1999), Futureperfect (2002) and Automatic (2011) are cornerstones of the genre, and the band has headlined festivals and sold-out tours across Europe and North America for over three decades.
