Volker Weidermann is a German literary critic and writer. He spent many years as head of the books section at Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung before moving to Der Spiegel. His book Ostende (2014), about the meeting of Joseph Roth and Stefan Zweig in Belgian exile, brought him wide attention beyond literary circles.
