Von Wegen Lisbeth is a Berlin indie-pop band formed in 2006 at the Beethoven-Gymnasium in Berlin-Steglitz, where the five schoolmates started playing during a cancelled PE lesson. Singing exclusively in German, they built a devoted following through sharp, irony-laced lyrics about everyday Berlin life and a live show where band members swap instruments mid-set. Their fourth studio album, Strandbad Eldena, was released in December 2025 on Sony Music.
