WestBam (born Maximilian Lenz, 4 March 1965 in Münster) is a German DJ, producer and co-founder of the Berlin label Low Spirit Recordings. He started DJing in 1983 and moved to Berlin in 1984, where he became a central figure in the city's emerging techno and rave scene. He played at every Love Parade from 1989 to 2008 - the only DJ to do so - and co-founded the Mayday festival in 1991. His stage name is a tribute to Afrika Bambaataa, combining Westphalia with Bambaataa.
WestBam released the single 'Entertained' and 'I Can't Stop (2025)', continuing his run of new material in 2025.
WestBam co-produced 'Love Is Stronger', the official 2024 Rave The Planet anthem, together with Dr. Motte and Tom Wax.
WestBam is on an active tour across Germany and the Netherlands, with dates running through September 2026.
WestBam performed at Bass Planet 2025 in Poland, where he was described by local media as 'immortal'.
