About

William The Conqueror is a British indie rock trio from Newquay, Cornwall, formed in 2017 by singer-guitarist Ruarri Joseph alongside bassist Naomi Holmes and drummer Harry Harding. Their sound pulls from bluesy grunge and Americana - raw guitar, semi-spoken vocals, and tight three-piece dynamics - and has drawn praise from The Guardian and NPR. Four albums in, from the debut Proud Disturber of the Peace (2017) through to Excuse Me While I Vanish (2023), they have built a loyal following on both sides of the Atlantic through relentless touring.
