Wishbone Ash are a British rock band formed in Torquay in 1969, best known for pioneering the twin lead guitar sound that went on to influence acts from Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Opeth. Their 1972 album Argus reached #3 on the UK charts and remains a landmark of progressive hard rock. Sole founding member Andy Powell has kept the band active and touring continuously for over five decades, releasing 24 studio albums in total.
