Wolf Maahn, born 25 March 1955 in Berlin and raised in Munich, is a German rock singer, songwriter, and producer who has been a fixture of the Cologne rock scene since the early 1980s. He blends rock, blues, reggae, and funk in a way that stands apart in German-language music, and his lyrics consistently engage with everyday German life and social politics. Of his 19 studio albums, 15 have charted in Germany; a landmark 1985 Rockpalast Nacht broadcast - the first by a German artist, transmitted live to 17 European countries - made him a household name. Over more than 1,200 live shows he has shared stages with Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, and Fleetwood Mac.
