Wolfgang Petry (born Franz Hubert Wolfgang Remling, 22 September 1951 in Cologne) is a German schlager singer and songwriter who dominated the German-language charts through the 1980s and 1990s. Known affectionately as "Wolle", he sold close to 20 million records across 25 studio albums and won the ECHO award five times in the schlager category. He announced his retirement from live performing in 2006, though he has continued to release studio albums; a country-oriented English-language side project, the Pete Wolf Band, launched in 2017.
