Wolves in the Throne Room is an American atmospheric black metal band formed in 2002 in Olympia, Washington, by brothers Aaron and Nathan Weaver. Their music draws directly on the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest - dense, layered, and rooted in nature and ecological themes. Across seven studio albums, from the debut Diadem of 12 Stars (2006) through Two Hunters (2007) and Primordial Arcana (2021), they have built one of the most distinctive bodies of work in North American black metal. The band records and produces at their own Owl Lodge Studios in the Washington woods.
