About

Youth of Today is an American hardcore punk band formed in Danbury, Connecticut in 1985 by vocalist Ray Cappo and guitarist John Porcelly. The band became a defining force in the straight edge and Youth Crew movements of the late 1980s, with albums like 'Break Down the Walls' (1986) and 'We're Not in This Alone' (1988) shaping an entire generation of hardcore. They split in 1990 but have reunited repeatedly since 2003, with the classic lineup - Cappo, Porcelly, bassist Walter Schreifels and drummer Sammy Siegler - still performing today.
