About

ZZ Top is an American rock band from Houston, Texas, active since 1969. The trio built its name on Billy Gibbons' blues guitar, a tight rhythm section, and an instantly recognizable look - two members with floor-length beards, matching outfits and dark glasses. Their 1983 album Eliminator crossed them over to mainstream radio and has since gone diamond (10 million+ copies in the US alone); the band has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. After the death of founding bassist Dusty Hill in 2021, Elwood Francis stepped in at Hill's own request, and the band has kept up a relentless touring pace ever since.
