Frank Schöbel is a German pop and schlager singer born in 1944 in Dresden. He was one of the most prominent stars of popular music in the GDR and became especially well known for his Christmas songs, most notably „Wie schön, dass du geboren bist". He continues to perform regularly, particularly at Christmas concerts.
