Ramones are an American punk rock band from New York City, widely regarded as one of the founding acts of punk rock. Formed in 1974, they became known for short, fast songs such as "Blitzkrieg Bop" and "I Wanna Be Sedated". The band disbanded in 1996 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.
