Vasily Petrenko is a Russian conductor who has built an international career with some of the world's top orchestras. He served as principal conductor of both the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra. He is particularly noted for his interpretations of Russian repertoire, including works by Shostakovich and Rachmaninov.
