Carter, born in 1965 in Brazil to Italian immigrant parents, studied forensic psychology in Michigan and worked for six years as a criminal psychologist for the state prosecutor's office. After a career as a musician in Los Angeles, he now lives as an author in London. His thrillers featuring profiler Robert Hunter are all bestsellers.

Björn Springorum, born in 1982 in Calw, studied English and history and works as a freelance author in Stuttgart. Since his debut novel "Herbstbringer" (2013), he has published numerous fantasy and dark novels, including "Der Ruf des Henkers" and most recently "Kinder des Windes".
