Deutschland 2035 - A Performative Audio Walk
Sat, 17 Oct 2026 · 19:00
Theater der Altstadt, Stuttgart, Germany
Germany, 2035: democracy has been abolished, a right-wing populist government has seized power. Who gets mocked, excluded, attacked or expelled - and how did things ever get this far?
The starting point is a series of writing commissions given to contemporary authors, alongside Thomas Mann's famous radio addresses delivered from his American exile. From these emerge scenes and a text collage intended to make tangible which values are worth defending today, in 2026.
The audience experiences the piece as a blend of audio walk and performative theatre stroll through Stuttgart's Westen district - a warning from the future, shaped through literary means.
