Schlagersüsstafel - A All-German Comedy

More than 20 years after the fall of the Wall, Hildegard Pfahlhammer visits Cornelia Strunk - her friend from the old days, the 1980s. Back then, she had come to East Germany as part of a student exchange during the World Festival of Youth, eager to experience real existing socialism firsthand. They met as schoolgirls, both brimming with enthusiasm for their very different worldviews. Now Cornelia and Hildegard let the old times flicker back to life, with all the passion, warmth and comedy those years held.

Sharp, witty dialogue makes this theatre piece a genuine pleasure to watch. History and present-day humour shake hands here. Those who loved and lived through that era, and young audiences today, get to see a slice of recent history from a fresh angle - and laugh heartily while doing so.
