Izabella Effenberg vibraphone, array mbira, steel drum / more / Magdalena Czwojda guitar / Klaudia Wachtarczyk electric bass / Dorota Piotrowska drums

Polish vibraphonist and composer Izabella Effenberg moves musically between jazz, classical music, and world music - bringing a wealth of exotic instruments to the stage. For her birthday concert, she has gathered three renowned jazz musicians from Poland: guitarist Magdalena Czwojda, bassist Klaudia Wachtarczyk, and drummer Dorota Piotrowska.

Jazz has always held a special place in Poland - as an expression of freedom and artistic independence, even during times of political oppression. This vibrant tradition, shaped in part by Krzysztof Komeda, forms the backdrop for this concert.
