Scene of the crime: a rural estate in the Mark region from long ago.
Year after year, three brewery heiresses - Charlotte, Cäcilie, and Clementine - spend the summer at their country house with their manservant Rudolf. For nearly 30 years, Rudolf has faithfully served the sisters. He has spent intimate hours with each of them - of course without the knowledge of the others - and each promised to remember him in her will. When Rudolf now demands early payment, none of the sisters want to honour their promise. Rudolf threatens to reveal their secret. A bad idea - the sisters resort to arsenic and other deadly means...
