Spin Without Spinning Out - Introductory Course

Pottery on the wheel for beginners and those with some experience

This monthly course covers the core techniques of wheel-throwing - centring, opening, setting the base, pulling up the walls, trimming, and attaching handles, as well as clay preparation. With individual guidance, participants learn to make simple vessels and glaze them. No prior experience needed.

By the end of the course, everyone leaves with their first self-thrown pieces - muesli bowls, coffee mugs, and whatever else turns out. Painting and glazing take place in the Open Workshop at no extra cost, and participants are welcome to keep working there after the course using the skills they've picked up.

The course runs either as a weekend format (Saturday and Sunday, 10:00-17:00 each day) or as an ongoing course spread over 5 sessions.
