SPUCKEN WIR AUF HEGEL
TD Berlin, Germany
"We watched for four thousand years, now we have seen it." With this quote from the manifesto of Italian feminist Carla Lonzi, the performance by Barletti/Waas opens an evening of shared thinking and careful exploration of equal relationships.
In four conversations, the now-rediscovered pioneer of philosophical feminism discussed with her ex-partner art, love, equality, and power relations - the role of women, the idealization of (male) genius, and the need for admiration. Lonzi's radical answer to all of this was: "Just go!"
The evening brings revolutionary texts from the 1970s into dialogue with diary entries, letters, dreams, poems, and reflections - a journey through more than five decades of feminism, philosophy, religion, family, and Marxism toward a contemporary process of self-awareness. Songs, music, conversations, and pauses structure the shared thinking. The audience does not expect a finished narrative; it sits with the performers in the same space of thought, following in the footsteps of Carla Lonzi and all the women who wanted to resist the madness of patriarchal power.
After sold-out performances in Berlin and guest appearances in Hamburg, Mannheim, and Flensburg, the TD co-production returns to the TD Berlin schedule before heading to Munich.
