Salvation

"Salvation" is a science-fiction drag ritual and experimental incantation - fuelled by visions and fantasies that have accompanied Shlomi Moto Wagner since his third year of life. The piece explores transformations, mutations and remanifestations of being: the sensuality of having a body, the politics behind it, and the poetics of sharing a physical experience.

This music-theatre solo reads contemporary pop culture and its academic discourse mythologically and poetically. Music from ancient Jewish texts and incantations meets visionary compositions by Hildegard von Bingen from the 12th century, newly arranged with pop hits, techno compositions and contemporary feminist texts - all of which transforms the operatic performance into a ritual of transformation.

The four performances mark the tenth anniversary of this solo.
