Everyone knows Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" - perhaps too well. In "Les Saisons", Thierry Malandain reopens the work for discussion: he combines Vivaldi with a little-known version by his contemporary Giovanni Antonio Guido, shifting focus away from mere recognition toward structure, rhythm, and contrast.
Malandain Ballet Biarritz was founded in 1988 and ranks among Europe's most frequently performed ballet companies, with around 100 performances and over 80,000 spectators annually. The 22 classically trained dancers translate Vivaldi's and Guido's Baroque music into direct, contemporary energy, creating a powerful and poetic stage form.
