The jukebox usually stood in an unassuming corner of a Baden pub - yet its colourful lights made it impossible to ignore when it played hits like "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King or "Can't Help Falling in Love". It was more than a bulky music machine: it was the feeling of being, for a few minutes, part of the wider world of London and New York.
"Next Stop: Jukebox" takes the Pforzheim audience back to a time when Elvis Presley swung his hips, the Beatles conquered the world, and Frank Sinatra sipped his whisky with cosmopolitan cool. Lilian Huynen hosts the evening dedicated to the Swinging Sixties, accompanied by a band under the musical direction of Philipp Haag. Twisting encouraged!
Cast: musical direction Philipp Haag, direction Markus Hertel, set design Steven Koop, dramaturgy Carlo Mertens.
