Nessun Dorma. A Vocal Ensemble Concert.

The New Year concert "Nessun Dorma" celebrates the most passionate and emotionally profound moments of Italian opera literature. Musical direction is led by Yongbae Shin.

The evening brings together the professional vocal ensemble Siamo Cantati Amici with the Coro Bellissime Voci Würzburg, prepared by Yongbae Shin, accompanied by the Harmonie Würzburg orchestra. The programme opens with Mozart's "Ave verum" and "Panis angelicus", followed by the intermezzo from Mascagni's Cavalleria rusticana with the Korean text "맘에 평화 주옵소서" (May peace dwell in our hearts).

In the second half, soloists from Siamo Cantati Amici take on the great operatic roles: the baritone aria "Si può" from Pagliacci, "È strano... Sempre libera" from Verdi's La Traviata, the quartet "Bella figlia dell'amore" from Rigoletto, and the "Cat Duet".

The finale brings ensemble and chorus together: Verdi's "La Vergine degli angeli", the chorus "Va, pensiero" from Nabucco, and concluding with the tenor aria "Nessun Dorma" from Puccini's Turandot.
