Prometheus confused - World Premiere
Theater im Delphi, Berlin, Germany
Prometheus is confused. Like many young people, he asks himself: Who or what defines me? What does my existence mean in relation to my surroundings? What drives me - the desire to preserve the existing order or to break it apart? He meets Gaia, who reminds him that the world's resources are finite. Guided by his own values, Prometheus constantly tries to do "the right thing" - and finds himself in conflict with the ruler Kronos. Together with Zeus, he throws the order of the Titans' galaxy into chaos. Both fight for their own vision of a good world. But what is a good world? What is right?
The piece draws inspiration from Franz Fühmann's "Prometheus - The Titans' Battle" and - inspired by drag aesthetics, including video projections - creates a connection to the present day.
Anna C. Ortmann is an actor, theatre educator, lecturer, and workshop facilitator. Helena Kauschke is a cultural and media educator, theatre scholar, and performer. Both also perform as drag kings. When they met at a show, the idea emerged to create together a drag-inspired theatrical piece as FLUIDUM.
