DIE KLIMA-MONOLOGE - Documentary Theatre by Michael Ruf

After 900 performances of Asyl-Monologe, Asyl-Dialoge, NSU-Monologe and Mittelmeer-Monologe, author and director Michael Ruf presents his new piece.

Klima-Monologe tells the stories of people from different parts of the world who experience the consequences of climate change - droughts, floods, storms, uninhabitable zones, and fights over resources - directly in their own lives. They face existential choices: stay or leave, crop failures in the countryside or life as a day labourer in the city, security against identity, hunger against risk.

The piece is documentary theatre: Michael Ruf conducts multi-hour, sometimes multi-day interviews, which are then only shortened and condensed. Nothing is invented - the interviewees' own way of speaking is preserved throughout.

After each performance, there is an open discussion with the audience.
